Annual Alumni vs Students Cricket Match - 2026
What an incredible afternoon of cricket as our Desborough College Alumni took on our current students in a thrilling contest that went right down to the wire.
The match couldn't have had a more dramatic ending. Needing runs from the final over, the students kept their hopes alive until there were just two balls left, setting up a memorable showdown between Mr Jamison and Sam in Y10.
Then came the moment everyone will remember. Sam connected perfectly, sending the ball soaring for a huge six beyond the boundary to seal a dramatic victory for the students and spark celebrations from teammates and supporters alike.
Beyond the cricket, the afternoon was a fantastic opportunity to bring together the rich history of Desborough College with its present. It was wonderful to welcome so many alumni back to school, reconnect with former students and see them sharing the field with the next generation of Desborough pupils.
The afternoon was rounded off perfectly with a delicious afternoon tea prepared by Ms Pankhurst and the Food Technology Department. It was a wonderful way to bring everyone together after the match and provided a lovely end to a memorable evening.
A huge thank you to everyone who played, supported and helped make the event such a success. We are already looking forward to welcoming our alumni back for next year's fixture!
